I think they look great but only time will tell if we will need a separate class for these bodies or if they will be permitted to run in Scale Spec at OGR and RRR
I think it would be fun if we had a rule that they must all include a driver figure/head and LED lights but that's just me For now, the Hyper Car bodies will be available as a special order item only but if they prove to be popular, I'll try to stock them in the future Check out the full range of LMH hyper car bodies here and if you see one you'd like, please let me know and I'll order one for you Thanks Rob Here's a great video by Kouki Kato RC Driver on how to maintain a brushless motor. If you'd like, you can turn on transcripts toward the bottom of the video description, then right click on one of the words in the transcript and select "transcribe page" and Google translate will automatically translate the Japanese transcript to english for you so you can follow along
In the video, Kouki Kato is showing the ORCA motor bearing removal tool that can be found on the "Motors & Accessories" page If you're thinking about giving on-road RC car racing in Richmond a try, here's a video of a fairly typical race in the "Stock Touring" class at Overgeared Racing that will give you an idea of what you can expect

View the price and more details here In this Xray Tech Tip video, Alexander Hagberg shows us how to adjust the roll center on an X4.
Lower Arms He starts by explaining how to adjust the roll center via shimming the lower arms Here's how I remember the basic effect of adjusting roll center via the lower arms:
Upper Arms He then explains how to adjust roll center and camber gain via shimming the upper arms. I found the upper arm shimming advice that Alex gives to be the opposite of what I expected. This is due to Camber Gain. Alex says:
Axle Height Finally, Alex talks about axle height adjustments Add shims = takes away grip, free up the car, more corner speed Remove shims = more traction, more grip Remember to adjust your droop number. Example, if you add a 0.5mm shim, you need to remove 0.5mm from your droop number (4.6 would now be 4.1) The next planned order from Tonisport will be on Sunday, December 17th. This should allow plenty of time for the order to arrive for the January 20th OGR race
If there is anything you'd like me to add to the Tonisport order for you, please let me know. Just about everything they offer is available to us but please avoid the following:
Thanks Rob Here are some great videos on how to mount your body using horizontal rear body posts. In this video, Alexander Hagberg introduces the horizontal rear body mounting option on the X4. He talks about why you may, or may not want to use horizontal mounts vs vertical mounts If you have an Xray X4, this Xray Horizontal Rear Body Post Gauge will help get your body mounted correctly. This video tutorial from Alexander Hagberg shows exactly how to use the tool Here's a great video by Patrick at Tonisport. In this video, Patrick shows us how to use a digital caliper and a magnetic body mounting system like this one from BittyDesign to set the body height. This system should work on all brands of chassis This video by Jilles Groskamp is focused on the INFINITY IF14-2 but a lot of the tips Jilles talks about will also work on other kits Last but not least, this video by Chris at RCMAKER shows us how to mount a body using the RCMAKER Pro Body Mount system. Even if you are not using the RCMAKER Pro Body Mount system, this video is well worth a watch as he gives several other tips on mounting position How I mount an Xtreme Speciale body on my X4 for carpet: 1. Trim the body to standard body lines as marked on the body 2. Create front body post holes at 66mm from windshield bottom. The body posts will line up with the ridges on the hood 3. Adjust front body height such that top of front bumper is at 12mm (8th hole with kit body mounts) 4. Place a mark on the front lip at 8mm (this will leave a 4mm tall front lip once trimmed) 5. Set rear body posts to third hole down from the top 5. Use the Xray Horizontal Body Post Gauge to mark and drill the rear body mount holes 6. Confirm rear body height at top of bumper is at 64mm using calipers or the Xray gauge 7. Cut wheel wells using Xray wheel arch tool 8 Trim lower body sides to 10mm using Well RC trim gauge 9. Trim front lower lip to 8mm using Well RC body trim gauge ***Chassis must be race ready before mounting/trimming the body. Ride height set, battery installed etc. More body mounting tips and resources are available on the How To Page
Some helpful tools:
New from RCMaker are these large contact brass roll center shims. Large contact shims allow more surface area between the screw and the shim, bracing the carbon and preventing unnecessary, expensive chassis breakages. These shims feature an 8mm outer diameter (2mm larger than normal) which provides additional support, as well as makes them easier to install and remove thanks to their larger surface area The shims also feature milled rings, to make it easy to identify the thickness The top of the shim is also machined down without anodising, RC Maker did this so that when you tighten the top ball, it doesn't damage any anodizing and ruin the aesthetics of the shims. it also provides you with a perfectly flat surface to tighten your arms down onto These Black Anodised Brass shims add a great amount of weight at the lowest point of your car. 1.5mm Shims weigh 2.5g for 4 pieces and up to 4.5g for 4pcs of 3mm thick shims. If you need to get up to weight, these are a brilliant way to do it while keeping it low! If you're after a lighter version, RC Maker also offers a 7075 aluminium sets available These brass shims come in 5 options:
