There's a lot of great information available for free online. The problem is locating and sorting through it. A better, more efficient way to find setup information is with a book. If you truly want to get better at racing, these books are money well spent. Here are some of my favourite RC books: 1. Essential Touring Car RC Racer's Guide by Dave B Stevens. If you can only buy one book, this is the one that I recommend. I own and use this book regularly. It walks you through everything from assembling your car, to learning a new track to chassis setup and more. You can buy this from me, directly from the author as a book or as a download and sometimes even from Amain. I purchased the paperback version of the Touring Car book myself and love it. I also downloaded the Off-Road Guide when I raced off-road but find the download to be a less enjoyable reading experience 2. Speed Secrets by Ryan Maker. If you buy the Essential Touring Car RC Racer's Guide, you don't need to also buy Speed Secrets as the Essential guide also includes Speed Secrets. If you can't find the Essential Touring Car RC Racer's Guide, go ahead and buy Speed Secrets but don't buy both 3. Radio Control Car Chassis Setup Guide by XXX Main. This book was a game changer for me. Rather than trying to memorize what each setup change does, this book helps you truly understand why the changes do what they do - hint, it's all about weight transfer. The sad part about this book is that it's out of print and hard to find. Google will be your friend when searching for a copy 4. Hudy Setup Book. Included for free with a Hudy Setup Station. At the time that I'm writing this, I can't find a source for the Setup book but you can download a PDF by clicking the file below:
5. Invisible Speed by JQ Racing. I haven't purchased this book or course yet but likely will at some point. The book is primarily aimed toward 1/8 scale off-road but I believe elements of it will also apply to touring cars. I'll update this if/when I buy the book and/or course in the future Comments are closed.
